Building Policy Workshop: Impacts Now and Going Forward
Wednesday, February 26, 8:30 - 11:30am, Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile
Join this engaging pre-conference workshop that will explore the background, impacts and future of energy-efficient building policies in the Midwest. What are the opportunities and challenges in designing new programs and claiming increased energy savings and how can we better manage new, smarter buildings?
In recent years cities and states have committed to more stringent energy and carbon goals, including policies that comprehensively reduce building energy use, such as energy codes and building performance standards. These stronger policies will reduce energy use, but they require new resources and increased commitment to ensure actual compliance and energy reductions. This session will bring together industry leaders to talk through recent experiences and identify what is needed to meet these goals.
