2004 Inspiring Efficiency Awards

On September, 28th, 2004, MEEA recognized the inaugural winners at our first ever Inspiring Efficiency Awards Dinner. The evening's keynote address was given by L. Hunter Lovins, of Natural Capitalism.

The recipients of the 2004 Inspiring Efficiency Awards were:

  • Governor Tim Pawlenty, State of Minnesota - Leadership
  • Wisconsin Focus on Energy Residential Programs - Education
  • The Compressed Air Challenge (Midwest Partners include: Association of Ingersoll-Rand Distributors, Compressed Air and Gas Institute, Compressor Distributors Association, Energy Center of Wisconsin, Iowa Energy Center and the State of Illinois) - Impact
  • Community Energy Cooperative's Energy-Smart Pricing Plan - Innovation
  • Val Jensen, ICF Consulting - Chairman's Award

2005 Inspiring Efficiency Awards

On October 3rd, 2005, for the second year, MEEA recognized five Midwest leaders who have blazed the trail for the application and development of energy efficient technologies, programs and policy initiatives.  

The recipients of the 2005 Inspiring Efficiency Awards were:

  • Governor Jennifer Granholm, State of Michigan - Leadership
  • University of Illinois at Chicago, Energy Resources Center (ERC) Education - Education
  • MidAmerican Design Assistance - Impact
  • Center for Technology Transfer, Inc. - Innovation
  • Interstate Power and Light Co. (IP&L) - Marketing
  • David Leishman, Applied Proactive Technologies, Inc.- Chairman's Award
Along with the presentation of these awards, the Inspiring Efficiency Awards Ceremony included a keynote address by renowned author and essayist Richard Manning.
